The PTFA at Ysgol Gwaun Y Nant is a long standing community of parents, grandparents, family members, and teachers, that has been supporting the children and school for many years. 

Working with the school, the parents, extended family, and the wider community, we have continuously delivered events that have brought joy to all at Ysgol Gwaun Y Nant. It is only with the help of the school community we have managed to grow and raise funds that are always used for the benefit of the children.

We were able to register as an official charity in 2022 making us a standalone entity separate from the school. Regardless of this, we remain well connected and work in close partnership with the staff at Ysgol Gwaun Y Nant to provide the resources, experiences, and events you’re familiar with. It is only with this combined effort we achieve all we do.

We always have the children in our minds and hearts and use this to motivate us day after day to continue building, growing, and giving our best to all at Ysgol Gwaun Y Nant. From nursery through to year six, your children are our priory and the main driving force to up our game, increase everyone’s accessibility, opportunity, and happiness whilst they are a part of the Gwaun Y Nant family.

As a PTFA our main objective is to provide as many experiences and opportunities as possible for all of the children at Ysgol Gwaun Y Nant. 

We work continually through the school year to put on a range of events to raise money for the school and provide the children with experiences. All money is raised for the benefit of the children with funding priorities agreed between the school and the PTFA.

All of which are only manageable with the help of the staff and volunteers that support us.

In recent years we have raised funds for:

 Playground equipment

 Climbing frames on the grass and within the nursery garden

 The Timber trail on the grass

 An all school trip to Folly Farm

 Playground flooring

 A badge-making enterprise set up by one of the school classes

 Stage equipment

 Music Equipment

We have also secured school coats that are kept in school and loaned to children who need a coat on colder days.

We love seeing the incredible opportunities and fantastic experiences the children enjoy because of the efforts and achievements the PTFA and its’ supporters, provide. 

This inspires us keep going, to continue to nurture our relationship with the staff and families of Ysgol Gwaun Y Nant, and continue to provide the best we can give for the benefit of Ysgol Gwaun Y Nant now and for future generations to come.
